The Daily Mail is reporting that 43 of women stash a spare set of undies in their purses. The survey of 2,500 adults also had some other surprising things to say but the spare panties is the best bit of information.

Who would want to be caught in a pair of "ganny undies" when a date suddenly goes better than expected? The simplest way to not end up like Bridget Jones is to have a sexy pair in your purse while wearing the grannys.

Some other facts revealed in the survey include that tastes in undies vary generally by the sizes of the women. It found that slim, size 8 women are most likely to wear sensible cotton panties while size 16s prefer sexier matching sets. Size 14 women, meanwhile, are the most likely to wear a suspender belt or to sometimes not even bother with underwear at all.
