Rebecca Minkoff at Fashion Week

Yesterday at New York Fashion Week, Rebecca Minkoff showed off her 2012/2013 fall and winter collection. While showing the world her new line, she surprised her guests with a live performance by rapper Theophilus London.

As the rapper entertained the crowd with his vocal stylings, Minkoff filled the runway with bright colors, animal prints, color blocking and exotic animal skin handbags.

Color blocking is hot this year at Fashion Week and Minkoff pushed the concept even further than most designers. She combined unexpected colors together with animal and painterly prints and unleashed her version of the color blocking craze. Rather than using only solid bold colors as in many of her designs in past years, for this year she mixed things up. Taking black leather and exotic skins together with faux fur to create designs with texture rather than simply bold colors.

The Rebecca Minkoff collection of handbags includes clutches, daytime clutches and traditional top handle satchels.
