Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs was born in New York City in 1963. Following graduation from the High School of Art and Design in 1981 Jacobs entered the Parsons School of Design. As a design student Marc Jacobs was awarded some of the schools highest honors including the prestigious Design Student of the Year.

Jacobs introduced Marc by Marc Jacobs in a spring 2001 fashion show. He continues to win awards including seven CFDA awards and the Womenswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year and Menswear designer of the year.

Marc Jacobs Fashion Week

Marc Jacobs is known for putting on very entertaining fashion shows and at this year's Fashion Week he didn't disappoint. His over the top 2012 line seems to have been influenced by Dr. Seus, Charles Dickens and even Lewis Carroll at least the Tim Burton version of Lewis Carroll.

Crazy hats, huge fur covered bags, oversized buttons plenty of pinks, purples reds and greens. It feels like we've slipped through the rabbit hole. Hidden within all of the outrageousness, Jacobs did have a few actual wearable styles. The pea coats and stoles are interesting and cute. It was just so hard to see anything other than those crazy furry hats.

If you are one of the most influential designers in the world, people pay attention to just about everything you do, including hitting the beach for a bit of fun with friends. No matter what, somebody is watching, which is how Marc Jacobs got snapped carrying a Hermes bag on the beach in St. Barts.

The DailyMail has a bunch of pictures of Marc with his friends having fun in the sand.

It does seem strange that the guy with his own line and who is the creative director of the French design house Louis Vuitton would use a bag from a rival. Leaving aside the fact that the Hermes bag he is carrying on the beach costs thousands of dollars, why would you want to advertise for a rival? Does Marc not have a tote worthy of tagging along to the beach?

I dunno maybe something like this tote? I realize its not exactly the same as the bag he's carrying but at least it is his brand on it and not Hermes. Oh and this tote only costs $548...
